Applications of Expanded Metal Mesh Machine Production Line
Our expanded metal mesh machines are capable of producing a wide variety of mesh types, each designed for specific industries and applications. From decoration to protection and filtration, our production lines help you create the right products for your market.
Decorative
Expanded metal brings design flexibility, making it a favorite among architects and interior designers. Our machines can produce:
- Diamond Expanded Metal Lath: The classic mesh pattern, used in facades, ceilings, and interior accents.
- XS Expanded Metal Lath: Lightweight mesh, suitable for decorative panels, partitions, and creative projects.
- XG Expanded Metal Lath: Heavier mesh with a bolder appearance, often used in furniture, wall cladding, or ceiling panels.
- KG Expanded Metal Lath: A versatile mesh type that balances strength and aesthetics, fitting for both functional and decorative purposes.
Ventilation
Expanded metal’s open structure allows excellent airflow while maintaining strength. Our machines enable the production of:
- Air Filter Mesh: Provides durable support for filter media in HVAC systems and industrial filters.
- Ventilation Panels: Used in equipment covers, ceilings, and ducts to ensure steady airflow without compromising safety.
- Support Mesh for Filtration Layers: Adds structure to fine filter layers, extending service life and maintaining shape.
Protective
One of the strongest applications of expanded metal is protection. Its solid, one-piece structure makes it difficult to break while allowing visibility and air passage. Our machines can create:
- Security Screens: Protect homes, offices, and equipment with strong mesh barriers.
- Barriers and Enclosures: Provide safety in construction sites, factories, or public spaces.
- Machine Guards: Shield workers from moving machinery parts without obstructing visibility.
- Grilles: Used in vehicles, buildings, and equipment for both protection and airflow.
FAQs
What materials can the machine process?
The machine we provide can process a wide range of materials depending on the model. The Standard type works with mild steel (MS), galvanized steel (GI), aluminum (AA1050), and stainless steel (SUS304 & 316). The High-Speed type is designed for lighter materials, while the Heavy-Duty type is built for stronger and thicker metals, ensuring reliable performance across various applications.
What mesh sizes and thicknesses can the machine produce?
Production capacity varies by machine type. The Standard model produces meshes with a maximum short way (SW) of 40 mm, long way (LW) of 80 mm, and up to 3.2 mm in thickness. The High-Speed model handles mesh up to SW 15 mm, LW 30 mm, and 1.2 mm thickness, ideal for fine and precise applications. The Heavy-Duty model produces a large and thick mesh, with maximum SW 200 mm, LW 750 mm, and a thickness up to 12 mm.
Check out our guide to know more about how to measure expanded metal.
What is the production speed or capacity?
The machine’s speed also depends on the type. The Standard model reaches up to 300 strokes per minute (spm), while the High-Speed model achieves up to 1,000 spm for maximum productivity. The Heavy-Duty model operates at up to 220 spm, balancing strength with efficiency for thicker materials.
Can the machine handle custom mesh patterns or shapes?
Yes. All three machine types can be equipped with customized dies to produce unique mesh patterns or shapes, tailored to meet specific customer requirements.
What is the machine’s power requirement and operating system?
The power configuration varies depending on the model and customer requirements. Typically, KEN GI’s expanded metal and tread plate machines use industrial standard power supplies and are equipped with user-friendly control systems. All machines meet international standards, making installation at the customer site convenient.
Is the machine easy to maintain and operate?
Yes. KEN GI machines are designed with user convenience in mind. The interface is intuitive, and complete training is provided. Maintenance only requires regular checks and replacement of consumables. Spare parts are available directly from KEN GI, ensuring easy upkeep.
What safety features does the machine include?
Every machine undergoes full testing and inspection before delivery and is designed in compliance with ISO procedures. Safety features include necessary protective devices and emergency stop systems to ensure operator safety.
Does KEN GI provide installation and training?
Yes. KEN GI can dispatch professional technicians overseas to install the equipment, run trial operations, and provide operator training on-site, helping customers quickly become proficient and maximize efficiency. Find out more information about our After-sales Service.
What warranty services are included?
For complete plant exports such as expanded metal machines, anti-slip tread machines, rib lath machines, permanent formwork machines, brick mesh machines, angle bead machines, and diamond plate machines, KEN GI provides a one-year limited warranty for customer assurance.
How do I get a quotation or place an order?
Customers can send an inquiry form or purchase information via email (service@kengi.com.tw). KEN GI will conduct an internal feasibility assessment, analyze the quotation, and once the customer confirms, the order will be finalized. Production and follow-up processes will then begin. Visit our Service Process page for more information.
How long will the delivery normally take?
The delivery time depends on the mesh pattern, thickness, material, and size. On average, production and delivery take around four months.
